Meeting of the Minds
In our interpersonal exchanges with classmates, professors, administrators, and law firm representatives, we can connect with them or remain somewhat distant or disconnected. When we are attuned to another’s mind (as opposed to caught up in our own stuff and defenses) they feel heard. A connection opens and our relationship is transformed. This can be all the more consequential and powerful when the other is an adversary, a judge, a juror, or a client.
